ASIM — ACOUSTIC SIMULATION SUITE
Know how a room sounds before you walk into it PRIVATE BETA — RELEASE Q4 2026
ASIM simulates coverage, reflections and intelligibility for any venue. Hybrid ray-tracing and wave-based solvers, real loudspeaker data, ISO metrics.

THE PROBLEM
The room is always part of the system
Speaker placement gets decided on plans, experience and rules of thumb — then verified after the rig is hung, when changes cost real money. And the usual simulation tools are blind exactly where small and mid-size rooms behave worst: below the Schroeder frequency, where rays cannot see room modes.
WORKFLOW
Import. Simulate. Decide.
STEP 1 — IMPORT
Bring in the room geometry and your loudspeakers — GLL and CLF data load with full directivity balloons, multi-way sub-sources and transfer functions.
STEP 2 — SIMULATE
Stochastic ray-tracing for mids and highs, FDTD wave solver below the Schroeder frequency, UTD + BTM diffraction at edges — with a smooth crossover between domains.
STEP 3 — DECIDE
Read SPL maps, RT60, C50/C80, STI and G at every seat. Compare designs before committing to hardware.
UNDER THE HOOD
Going deeper
Direct sound uses multi-source SPL computation with inverse-square law and ISO 9613-1 atmospheric absorption. First-order reflections come from the Image Source Method; higher orders from adaptive stochastic ray-tracing, multithreaded across cores. Below Schroeder, a 3D FDTD solver simulates the wave equation itself — impedance boundary conditions per surface, broadband or per-frequency runs — capturing the modal behavior that defines how small rooms actually sound.
Interference and comb-filter analysis between sources is built in, coverage renders as 2D grids over the audience planes, and coupled-volume models reproduce the double-slope decays of foyers and naves.
INTERFACE
One modern tool, from import to calibration
The established simulators run on interfaces designed decades ago, and still split the job across separate applications — one to simulate, another to visualize, a third to align the system. ASIM is one tool: a real-time 3D view of the venue where every layer toggles instantly, the simulation recomputes as you move a box, and the calibration comes out the other end.
The workflow is measured in minutes, not sessions: import the geometry, drop the speakers from the library, read the layers, export the settings. Acoustic simulation stops being a specialist detour and becomes part of show prep.
LAYERS
Every decision, visible as a layer
Each computed quantity renders as a layer over the venue: direct SPL coverage, time alignment and arrival delays, reflection patterns, intelligibility, the standard ISO metrics — RT60, EDT, C50/C80, D50, STI, Strength G — per band, at every seat.
Stack them, toggle them, read the design against the standards and the spec. The rig stops being an act of faith: you see what every seat receives before anything is hung.
REVERBERATION
Reverb predicted with engineering precision
The ray-traced tail and the FDTD modal behavior combine into per-seat impulse responses — the late field, the early reflections and the low-frequency modes that geometric tools cannot see. Coupled-volume models reproduce the double-slope decays of foyers, naves and interconnected rooms.
What you read in the simulation is what the room will do — not an estimate from a statistical formula.
SPEAKER LIBRARY
The real boxes, from every brand
Sources are not idealized points: ASIM ships with a preloaded manufacturer library and imports the GLL and CLF files of every brand — third-octave directivity balloons at 5° resolution, multi-way sub-sources, transfer functions. The system you simulate is the system you will actually hang.
Compare candidate boxes inside the same venue, with the same metrics, before quoting a single unit.
AUTO-CALIBRATION
From simulation to settings, automatically
The data does not stop at diagnosis. From the computed coverage and timing, ASIM calibrates the system automatically — speaker placement, gains, delays and per-output FIR equalization, all derived from the simulation instead of tuned by trial and error on site.
The optimizer works at the design level too: it can suggest where the boxes should go, not just how to drive them. You arrive at load-in with a validated starting point — placement, alignment and filters included — not a hypothesis.
DECIDE BEFORE THE SHOW
The decision tool that fits inside prep
Setup takes minutes, computation runs faster than real time. Between the speed and the cost of the application, validation stops being reserved for flagship productions: every show gets a result checked to an exemplary standard before anyone climbs a truss.
Prep time shrinks, and the stakes of a design become visible — and adjustable — while they still cost nothing.

UNDER THE HOOD
A hybrid engine that takes physics seriously
Stochastic ray-tracing
Adaptive, multi-threaded ray-tracing for accurate mid/high frequency energy and late reverberation.
FDTD low-frequency solver
Full wave simulation below the Schroeder frequency captures room modes that rays cannot see.
UTD + BTM diffraction
Hybrid edge diffraction keeps shadow zones and balcony overhangs physically plausible.
Real loudspeaker data
GLL / CLF import with multi-way sub-sources, directivity balloons and transfer functions.
ISO metrics
RT60, EDT, C50/C80, D50, STI, Sound Strength G — per band, per seat, exportable.
Coupled volumes
Eigenvalue-based coupled-room model reproduces double-slope decays in foyers and naves.
POSITIONING
Compared to the alternatives
vs ray-tracing-only simulators
Geometric tools stop where the low end begins. ASIM's FDTD solver simulates the wave equation below Schroeder — the modes, the interference, the real bass behavior.
vs measuring after the install
Simulation moves the surprises to the drawing stage. Validate placement, predict intelligibility, compare designs seat by seat — before quoting hardware.
vs the established simulators
Interfaces designed decades ago, energy-only math, and a separate tool for every step. ASIM is one modern application — phase-accurate simulation, real-time 3D layers and automatic calibration in the same window.
vs separate calibration tools
Simulate in one app, align in another, hope they agree. ASIM closes the loop: the same model that predicts the room derives the placement, gains, delays and FIR filters that drive it.
